"The 2 aircraft include the hi-viz markings from the Vietnam War era and both of these jets are from the 1968 when the Vietnam war was reaching it's peak. One jet is from VF-84 and sports a flame job paint scheme around the engine intake. This is the same sort of flame job you'd expect to see on a Hot Rod at your local car show. The other jet is from VF-111 Sundowners and features the sundowner setting sun artwork on the rudder and a sharks mouth on the nose around the jet intake.
F-8C 146961 on 5-24-68 at NAS Miramar with VF-111. This was ten days prior to departing on it's MiG killing cruise. The aircraft was the mount of LT Joe Thompson and had TIGER painted in white on the red tail stripe. LT Anthony Nargi would be flying her on 98-19-68 when he would use a AIM-9 Sidewinder to down a MiG-21. This jet features hi-viz markings with a sharks mouth on the nose.
